Tomoko - san

Hi all, if you havent already done so please go visit our dear friend Tomokos facebook page to give her some love and support as she lives in the  town next to Fukushima.
Love Rachel x

  1. Hi Rachel,

Tomoko has my prayers, and I ve shared that, and my love with her. And will continue.

  2. Hola Rachel,

I didn't know Tomoko lived so close to Fukushima. I'll send her all my love and support.
I hope they can control de situation there, those 50 people are really brave.

  3. Yes, it's very frightening when the possibility of a nuclear disaster is there - and Tomoko said what adds to the fear is that so far the information about it has been very confusing/contradictory or not forthcoming at all.

The mind boggles at the scale of this disaster. So far, over 6 900 people are confirmed dead and the situation of the people in the evacuation centres is very dire with shortage of food and other supplies. :( My thoughts are with all the Japanese...

By the way, for those interested, the international broadcast of the Japanese television is here:

  4. Sent her a message the other day. Bless her.

  5. I feel that she is a friend and that is because of "In the Attic." Thank goodness she is able to communicate on Facebook. My thoughts are with her every day. Thanks so much for posting this, Rachel.

  6. I sent 'Tommy" a message several days ago,I'd been wondering if she was ok.We are praying for her and everyone in the Land Of The Rising Sun.

  7. My blessing and thoughts go out to Tomoko.

  8. keeping Tomoko very much in our thoughts. Very very worried for her safety.

  9. I have not had the pleasure of knowing Tomoko, and am not able to comment on her FB page, so I will say hello to her here:

Tomoko, I'm so very sorry things are so awful where you are. I'm heartsick over the disasters that have befallen your beautiful country this past week and I keep praying things take a turn for the better soon! I am hopeful.

    Keep the faith.

    - Lucy.

If you’d like to pass it along to her on Facebook, Rachel, I’d be much obliged.

It’s a song from Bill Clinton’s favourite album, not that that means anything these days, I just thought I’d throw that in for the sake of posterity. It’s a nice song and it fits the occasion.

  11. Thank you for the reminder. My life has been so busy lately, I didn't think.
    Denise x

  12. In case that did not resonate, Rachel, this is for you, all the people of Japan, both old and new, and those suffering in North Africa. There are times when I think the Universe has no use for us.

  13. I had the pleasure of meeting Tomoko in LA when we went to see you when you were performing at Barnes and Noble.

She, Anjoli and I had dinner before your show. She is SUCH a lovely person. My heart is aching for her, and for everyone in Japan.

I let her know that she and her husband are more than welcome to stay with us in Taipei. We have a plenty of room. Our door is open.

Sending love and light and prayers constantly to Japan.

  14. Rachel,

Don't know if you've heard of this but one of the sick things that have come up is the religious nuts on Youtube and elsewhere who are actually praising God for answering their prayers and sending the earthquake and tsunami on the atheists in Japan. They didn't seem very atheist to me in the footage of their silent prayer across Japan for the victims, but for these fanatics anyone who doesn't believe in (their concept of) the Christian god is an atheist because there is no god but (their concept of) the Christian god. That's beside the point though. The point is: I'm not into limiting anyone's freedom of speech, but how can anyone be insane enough to think something like this??

Lisa told me she ran into one of these people yesterday in downtown San Diego, going on about how the earthquake and tsunami were God's plan, and she actually went off on her.
