You’re right about the headphones, Rachel. The intimacy and the clarity of sound(s) is crucial in order to enjoy your compositions. I enjoyed every song I listened to including A Steetcar Named Desire. It ain’t top-down foot to the floor driving music. I suppose it’s called chamber music or at least music that is intended for small venues rather than the sports arenas or stadium structures. Music best suited for my old Boston Acoustic speakers – beautiful midrange and a solid bottom end. Oh how I miss them.
Thumping Cerwin Vegas are not for you.
Some say less is more, and from that aspect this may be some of your best work. That said, I’ve always favoured big productions even from the likes of Neil Young. I’ll take Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street band any day over Bruce on a stool with an acoustic guitar. I’d also prefer Leonard Cohen with the E-Street band rather than solo. Seriously, Cohen always had great musicians and back-up singers with him when he wasn’t traveling alone. The musicians, et al, on his Albums and CDs are also superb.
I’d like to have a signed CD, but I agree with Kurt Vonnegut (RIP) when he said he found the internet to be “spooky.” So I’ll refrain. When it comes to addresses and credit card numbers and banking information, I’m awfully shy.
I think Twitter is for twits and Facebook is best suited for teenagers or people on the prowl. There are times when I think I am a twit and there are times when I think I am god. Not thee God, of which there is only one, I’m not delusional, I’m just another modest god having fun. He, who shall remain nameless, listens to my thoughts and we seldom argue, but we have been deeply engaged over the years in some heated discussions. I think I’ve been successful on a number of occasions when I’ve asked Him to modify His plan. As of today, we almost see eye to eye.
But an old question that keeps popping into mind is this. “If God sent his only begotten Son to visit us here on this much beloved planet, with the cognizant knowledge that He would be tortured to death, what does He have in mind for the rest of us?” If I could ask David Lynch one question, that would be it.

Okay – now let’s have some fun with these guys: MEN AT WORK
Angelo Badalamenti – here is the keyboard that created all the major tunes for Twin Peaks and is well worth 4 minutes of your time.

David Lynch – In his own words – another minute of your time.

OH AND BY THE WAY, IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING, RACHEL, here is my Mantra: “If this isn’t nice, what is?” If you don’t have one of your own, you might want to give it a try.
Let’s leave now, vamoose, scram, take-off eh? with a funny little film, and a quirky little lesson in the Red Room.

And now David’s take on a Sony PD-150 camera.

AHH TECHNOLOGY – IT’S GETTING WILD – Even amateurs can afford this! I THINK THIS MAY HAVE BEEN DESIGNED WITH YOU IN MIND. WOULDN’T PETE BE IN HIS GLORY? AUTO FOCUS – JUST AIM AND SHOOT? YEAH – THAT AND A LOT MORE. YOU CAN MESS AROUND WITH THE AUTOS AND TAKE IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL. BEEP BEEP – HEY WHAT’S THAT SOUND?
(SONY has this camera, but I’m sure the competition has something very similar as well. So if you got a couple grand to spare I’d shop around. Or just save yourself the bother and go with David’s choice.)

Used to be a time when we only had four channels, CBS, NBC, ABC and the CBC. Chances were, when you went to work, someone at the coffee machine or the water fountain watched the same programs as you did the previous evening and it was easy to strike up a conversation.
But today, forget about it. You could have 100 people milling about the coffee machine and another 100 standing around the fountain, and no two people will have watched the same programs last night.
“Hey, did anybody watch yadda-yadda-yadda last night?”
Dead silence!
PERFECT – NOW LET’S ALL GET BACK TO WORK. LET’S QUIT STANDING AROUND.
Bummer! Guess I'm too late. Your music is on my iPod and it is my wake-up in the AM. If you decide to make more copies, please add me to the list Rachel. Denise x
