"I love it" - I promised not to post anything for you with a LINK - meant only for you, but nevertheless, so I will take a step back now, Rachel, and post for you back there. I wasn't finished with you, but you jumped in here before I had a chance to....finish my thought.
Great clip Rachel! I am so glad the creativity helped you out of a 'funk'. It was wonderful to follow along. (and it helped my funk on this end aswell). These days the internet is a great place for Artists, whatever their creativity is, to get yourself heard and scene. It's what the world is using for everything now.
I Enjoyed this interview Rachel. I really enjoyed it. It was hard to see your watch the band looked a bit like mine. I have a Ed Hardy watch mine has a orange Koi on it Swarovski Crystal. The watch part is rectangular. I like listening to your interviews for you look so relaxed and just all cozy sitting with a friend talking. :) Thanks for this treat. You have so much talent I am glad you are back to share it. xxoo
The day you posted your first entry about this project, I was actually thinking about you that morning. I was wondering what you were up to and thought to myself, I wonder how she is channeling her creative spirit these days.
I am glad you popped up out of the blue and shared your new project with us!
Well, I’ve seen the energetic take control of the situation Rachel who bounds from the audience at Ash to fix a problem onstage.
And I’ve seen on boards like this the funny Rachel with the really dry sense of humor whose comments makes me actually laugh out loud and wish I were at least half as clever.
But I’ve never seen you so vulnerable before.
It’s hard to know exactly where a feeling of sadness can come from and certainly issues from long ago that make an imprint can continue to linger long after those feelings aren’t welcome. If it’s any consolation, I think as you grows older it’s not so much that you go further from the past, but consciously move towards the future and with that comes the potential to fill the heart with experiences that nurture your spirit and take the edge off what sadness that still lurks beneath the surface.
The Almadovar project was just spectacular and it amazes me still how it could all come together in only six days. Maybe there is something particular to the energy in France that you respond to that makes your creative energy flow with ease. I don’t know.
I just know that it seemed to be good for you because you say so, and it turned out well for us who benefited from your good spirits.
A nice little speech, Rachel, and I like the tone - “Smoking kills. Yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadd yadda yadda. I feel good.” A nice little speech.
I love it.
PS; An old stage play about Lenny Bruce opened something like that. Here’s what the entire first page said. Here’s how the play opened. “Yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadd yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadd yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadd yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadd yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadd yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadd yadda yadda yadda.”
Can you play Billy Joel, Rachel? Can you play Captain Jack?
If you write a song, and you have to run the back of your hand, or your palm, up and down the keyboard, because that’s what the song called for, that can be painful. It’s always best to have an old empty beer bottle on hand, for just such an occasion – and fuck the tempo!
We are all grateful to experience your creative processes. I cannot express enough how important I feel process is vital to really showing how a song is created. A lot of changes and additions, a lot of development, wonderful. wonderful.
I really wanted to say (all day, but I had not chance until now; I do hope you read this): counseling sucks. Nothing works. Nothing but fulfilling who we really are (creatives) works to improve behaviour or sometimes I feel convinced bad behaviour is a way our biochem tells us we must fulfill our dreams.
bless you. not that you've sneezed or anything. just, bless you. xo
Just watched the last video clip (late as always I know! Sorry!). I fully agree if you do not do something creative then you get impatient or feel a bit mental. I also get this way, however I feel that when I do the same type of artistic work over and over. I have to mix it up or for me there is a whole other level of frustration. One week I might do a painting, a sculpture, sew, write, design a frock etc...I have to keep it fresh and then I feel alive. Wonderful to see your process. As always you are a giving soul. I love that you reach out to your fans and friend them as well. Very generous of you.
I believe that the most important thing you can do to make a difference in the world, is to do work that you are passionate about....I'm glad you're back Rachel! Denise
